The Gone With The Wind of Private Club books
This book is better reading than Gone With The Wind; funnier than the original script for Blazing Saddles; and more insightful than a Stephen Hawking book. The photograph on page 160 shows just what it will take to be a great private club leader. Everyone should read it for two reasons: the book is great and Mr. Ogive must certainly need the moeny.

A must read if you work in the industry
I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. What a great satire on the club industry and as someone who has worked 22 years in the business it rings so true. Well done!

Product Description

Private Clubs in America and around the World is a VERY funny and perceptive look into the unique world of private clubs. Private clubs are inextricably woven into the very fabric of America's history, traditions, and culture- and for that matter, the histories, traditions, and cultures of ALL free societies around the world. Members, employees, and guests alike will enjoy the author's penetrating insights, off-beat humor, blatant irreverence, and sarcastic wit. The author's obvious extensive knowledge of and deep affection for the world of private clubs permeate all nine chapters and deal with topics ranging from Boards of Directors to committees, employees to members. Be prepared to laugh your socks off at this must-read.

Clive Endive Ogive IV belongs to at least 17 exclusive private clubs-certainly all the ones that matter. The fact that he has a Roman numeral IV after his name and is exclusive heir to a trust fund with annual interest sufficient to pay all his annual club dues in perpetuity-and also somehow manages to write all this money off on his taxes as "legitimate business deductions"-is more than enough to qualify him to author this groundbreaking and aweinspiring book.

Great product
It sounds like the previous reviewer didn't even try the product. This product is easy to use, and very useful. The wire at the top holds the cover so you can see baby while feeding, and the tie around the neck keesp it on instead of fumbling with a blanket. It helps when you want to be little more discreet with breastfeeding, and also helps new breastfeedings moms take time to have baby latch on well. If a woman is comfortable breastfeeding everywhere, this product may not be necessary. For those of us who believe in breastfeeding, but want to be private it is a great product. It's nice that it comes in a variety of colors as well.

Fabulous!
I agree. This is a great product. I'm not embarassed to BF my children, however I do have a strong sense of modesty. This nursing cover allows you complete privacy in a stylish way. If you think the product is too pricey you can go to a fabric store and make one yourself (if you're handy like that-I"m not). I love all the fabric choices and corresponding burp clothes. I've given this as a gift at several baby showers and the moms' LOVE it! I'm expecting my next child shortly and can't wait to use the cover again, especially since I'll be running after my toddler while BF.

Great idea but tough to use with an active baby!
Bebe au Lait/Hooter Hiders are a really great idea and they probably work great for a lot of BFing moms/babies. I have a VERY active, inquisitive little boy though and it's been tough. I bought Chocolat (which is a really beautiful print...I love it!). The problem is that if I'm BFing in a sunny area, the light shines through the material...under the cover, the affect is like stained glass and it totally distracts my boy. (Kind of funny, I know!) The result is that he keeps coming off to look at the pretty colors and trying to get him to latch on again is like wrestling. Add a fabric cover to the mix and the result is total chaos. Instead of making me feel like I can BF more discreetly, I feel like I'm putting on a show. However, I'd have the same problem with a blanket, so at least this cover didn't fall off! I have had better success with the cover when it's been dark or dusky out, or when my son is in a more mellow, hungrier frame of mind, lol. Anyway, I think that like with all...

Where Can I buy Endive

Consulted about this phenomenon, Napoleón Ruiz (who also claims to have been affected by overfeeding of endives in Bruges) said to Chillin’Competition that “ the decision of the Autorité de la Concurrence will have the effect of enhancing the... In 1895, Alfred Marshall explained this phenomenon as follows: “As Mr Giffen has pointed out, a rise in the price of bread makes so large a drain on the resources of the poorer labouring families and raises so much the marginal utility of money to... The French Autorité de la Concurrence has imposed a fine of 3,6 million euros on four French endive growers for their participation in an endive cartel. “ This case proves that what competition law/economics considers in the interests of consumer welfare (low prices, lots of endives) does not necessarily equate to what society (or the students at the College of Europe in Bruges) would consider...

After all, no matter how much endive we elites shove down our craws, the single endive grower in America will still ship his product all over the world. I’m feeling a bit “put off” by the derogatory tone here and I feel this has overshadowed any and all opinions I may (or may not) have had with regard to locally-grown (or even Belgianally-grown) endive. Hmmm, I thought, is it really fair to call endive “local” if the only place it’s grown in the U. S. is Rio Vista. I think calling the ON-DEEV local is horse-puckey, because it was most likely brought to the restaurant, via the local produce purveyor (rhymes with besh frixpress) who in turn *probably* got it from somewhere outside of Rio Vista. On the menu (or honestly it may have been in the description of the specials, we had already had cocktails after all and my memory’s a bit spotty) an item was described as containing “local” endive. If not of the eat “local” movement, would you know where all the endive comes from. hell I don’t even know what I’m talking about anymore))) yet they were items I hadn’t ever thought of before as “local” because they’re only grown locally. Where was I. Oh right… food origins… I believe “locally grown” is about as relevant as any other fad designed to appeal to the emotional sensibilities of stupid people who can’t keep their economic, political, social and environmental opinions... Endive is delicious. You’d have to try pretty hard to buy rice the wasn’t What’s the problem, exactly. Now, I’m no rice expert , but isn’t half the rice in the Americas grown in Yolo and surrounding counties. Last week I had a lovely dinner at The Press with my lovely lady and my sister and her husband. Frankly, it sort of highlights how ridiculously easy it is to eat local in California – especially here in the Valley. A dish was advertised as containing “local” rice.
